How the band got started, album and song deep dives, technical issues becoming bloopers, and Progstorm: A fun conversation with Dawn of Ouroboros!
The second edition of Progstorm is coming very soon, taking place across 3 days, August 21 – 23, 2026, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As part of the lead up to the Fest, all the members of US progressive black metal / blackgaze band Dawn of Ouroboros did a virtual sit down with me, discussing how excited they are to play Progstorm, their origin story, a deep dive into their latest album “Bioluminescene” and several songs from it, and more! There were some technical issues throughout, with the most challenging (and amusing) being drummer Chris eventually being on a nearly 45 second delay from when he said something and when we heard him say it. I was able to address most of the issues, but a couple times I could not, so there are flyovers explaining what happened. Also, guitarist Bobby started great and then had a hilarious blooper worthy stretch later in the interview before we lost him entirely. It was too funny in the moment not to keep! Experience all of this by watching the interview at the mymetaloftheday YouTube channel!
