Canadian symphonic metal band Solarus is releasing their brand new album, “Of Sin and Ruin,” on July 10, 2026, and I had the chance to do a virtual sit down with co-founders Lucas McArthur (lead guitar) and Sarah Dee (vocals). A short list of prep questions turned into a super fun 80 minute interview that covered a broad variety of topics, including the band’s origin story, the approach to writing their previous album, “A Dance with Tragedy” as well as their upcoming brand new album, call outs for Hyperspace Festival, Mad with Power Fest, and Neurotic Entertainment, and tons of insights into metal, touring, the live scene, other bands, and so much more! There are so many fun things to learn, and it should get you super excited for their fabulous new album (review pending!).
